Annie has a passion for helping clients achieve personal goals for their dog, be it an obedient family companion, competition or shooting dog.

Annie has a love for the countryside, working and competing her dogs in the shooting field. Her affection for dogs comes from childhood; training, grooming and showing West Highland White Terriers. She currently has six working dogs; Spaniels and Retrievers, as well as a loveable Norfolk Terrier!

Annie is a qualified teacher with a PGCE, and has lectured at several agricultural colleges, where she has been instrumental in developing and implementing courses.

Dan is a calm, honest and professional trainer with 7 years experience, both working with  dogs that stay for residential training, and working with clients on 1-1 lessons and classes. He has owned a range of breeds which gives him a depth of knowledge on how different breeds think and behave. He has bred dogs under his affix 'Pipmont' and is proud to have Winston standing at Stud.

''For me it’s all about seeing the client develop and achieve their own personal goals, whether they own a companion dog they want to enjoy as a family pet or a gundog they want to work in the shooting field''.

Dan enjoys all aspects of training, from young puppies, to behaviour problems to advanced training. He has competed in Working Tests with both Retrievers and Spaniels. Dan holds an Ofqual regulated Certificate in Canine Care and Behaviour. He is also a trained First Aider.

''Learning never stops, so I am constantly working to further my knowledge, whether that be through attending seminars or working with other trainers''.

Dan enjoys picking up in the shooting season with his gundogs. Alongside the gundogs, Dan also owns a German Shepherd and a Jack Russell. Dan is happily married, and is a proud father.

Mark took his passion of agility further in 2016 by setting out on a journey to become an instructor by attending many training courses around the country to gain experience and is now formally qualified at BCCSDip.FDAg and is an Agility Club Approved Instructor (First

Class). Currently he teaches two days a week here at Scovellsway, as well as providing additional 1-1 training as his time allows, organising in house competitions to provide his students with a friendly insight to the addictive competitive side to the sport.

'I strongly believe that clients should be taught by an experienced trainer, in a friendly and structured manner. I only use force free reward based non-punitive teaching methods and whilst not everyone can become a world champion, everyone can enjoy learning with their dog and, most importantly, discover the bond that forms with their dog as they become more advanced.’

Mark has 4 Japanese Spitz, of which

three are rescues and two of whom participate at a high standard in competition.

Kim has a a wealth of knowledge about dogs and started her own dog grooming business in 2017. She is a member of the British Dog Groomers Association, and is Level 2 and 3 City and Guilds qualified.

Kim regularly attends seminars and grooming competitions as part of her personal development.

''I believe it is important to always improve and keep up-to-date with new techniques and products.''

Kim is the proud owner of 5 dogs, including 2 wire-haired Dachshunds.

"Scovellsway has given us the confidence to manage our lovable Golden Retriever, Jake, over the last five years. He has developed from a ‘boisterous boy’ into a mature, responsive adult thanks to the care, empathy and professionalism of Annie and her team.

Jake has benefitted from puppy classes, boisterous boys classes, gun dog training and agility both in classes and in the fantastic training kennels, which he loves.

In addition, Kim provides a wonderful, caring grooming service once a month which keeps him in tip top condition,

We have only praise for Scovellsway and have recommended them to others many times."

Scovellsway is a terrific dog training and grooming facility in Winchester. We had both our dogs training beautifully and sensitively by them, so that they are a pleasure to own. Both dogs are groomed there too, they look great!

But because Scovellsway is so successful, you do need to book early!

A friend of mine recommended that I visit Scovellsway to help me in my quest to train my young Labrador. Initially I had a few 1-2-1 sessions with Annie and she then suggested that I attended Wendy’s  ‘drop-in’ class specifically for young gundogs.

Although I was apprehensive at first, the friendly, fun and supporting nature of everyone, has made training my dog such a wonderful experience. With Wendy’s help, I was delighted to pass the Working Gundog Test Certificate ran by the Kennel Club. Thank you all at Scovellsway and cannot recommend you enough!
